Google announced Gemini 4 Argon on September 30, describing a frontier model for demanding software engineering, enterprise knowledge work and defensive cybersecurity. Its initial rollout is to trusted cyber defenders through the Fairwind Program.
An announcement is not broad API availability
Google describes a phased release and says it will expand access after further testing and feedback. The announcement does not establish a generally available API SKU or a public price. Buyers should verify access to the exact model before planning a migration.
What belongs in a comparison
Provider claims remain attributed claims. Restricted access also limits what outside researchers can verify. A CompareLLM ranking requires reviewed evidence, explicit configuration and the applicable category basis; an announcement alone cannot supply those. Missing commercial facts should stay unresolved rather than inherit another Gemini model's price or limits.
